Cellist Philippe Borzelli Marchand graduated from the Conservatoire de musique du Québec in Montreal in the class of Mr. Denis Brott. He began the cello at the age of 7 with Mrs. Carole Sirois and Mr. Walter Joachim.
He made his first solo with orchestra at the age of 10 and was awarded several prizes and mentions in various competitions.
Philippe is vice-president and teacher at the Center de formation musicale de Ste - Rose. He holds a class of cello and chamber music. A pedagogue with a strong personality, he also teaches the cello at Poly-Jeunesse and Curé Antoine Labelle high schools and at the Académie des jeunes de Laval. He is also a member of the board of directors as a director of the Canadian Music Competition.
Recognized chamber musicians, Philippe has played on most major stages with the Trio Maestoso, Les Chambristes and the Tiffany Quartet.
He was invited as a soloist during the open days of the opening of La Maison Symphonique, soloist and assistant conductor at the Eurochestries Festival in France in the summer of 2012.
Alongside his career as a musician, Philippe is also the President of the Association des commerçants et gens d’affaire de Sainte-Rose.
