Since his earliest childhood, Frédéric Gagnon has been passionate about music. From elementary school, he attended a school with a musical vocation: Les Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal. Subsequently, his stay at Joseph-François-Perrault high school introduced him to the trumpet. It was from this moment that he seriously considered a career in music.

Since 2002 Frédéric has pursued a career in chamber music with the group Buzz, where he holds the position of solo trumpet. The group has performed more than 300 times across Quebec, offering shows that combine music and theater as well as concerts. The group also has 2 albums to its credit and several performances for TV and radio. Frédéric is also a regular member of the Orchester symphonique du Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean and the Orchester symphonique de Drummondville. In addition, he performs regularly for several ensembles in the Montreal region such as the Orchester Métropolitain and the symphony orchestras of Laval and Trois-Rivières.

After having held several specialist positions for nearly 10 years in music concentration programs at the secondary level, Frédéric is now a trumpet teacher at CÉGEP Saint-Laurent. Although Buzz occupies an important part of his career, teaching remains a passion and passing on his knowledge to young people makes him a fulfilled musician.
