Tiphaine Legrand arrived in Quebec in 1998, where she pursued studies in voice and choral conducting with Chantal Masson‑Bourque at Université Laval, followed by further training with Nicole Paiement and Robert Ingari at the Université de Sherbrooke.
A passionate educator dedicated to choral music, she works with singers of all ages and across a wide range of musical styles. As the Artistic Director of Ensemble Kô from 2006 to 2013, Tiphaine Legrand focused particularly on exploring the connections between early music and the works of contemporary Quebec composers.
She currently conducts several choirs, including the École des jeunes choir of the Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Music, as well as the Chœur classique de l’Outaouais, where she has served as music director and choir conductor since September 2011.
