After completing her postgraduate studies at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec in Montreal and a master's degree in performance at the Juilliard School, bassoonist Sarah Gauthier-Pichette continued her training at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne under the tutelage of Carlo Colombo. .
In 2011, she was first bassoon at the Philharmonia Orchestra in London for a trial period. Now based in Geneva, Sarah is an active freelancer throughout Europe, notably with the Orchester de la Suisse Romande, the Teatro Regio Torino and the Orchester des Pays de Savoie.
From 2009 to 2011, Sarah Gauthier-Pichette was also a member of the Verbier Festival Orchestra in Switzerland.
Formerly second bassoon at the Orchester Symphonique de Longueuil, Sarah has long been a freelancer in many Quebec orchestras, including the Orchester Symphonique de Montréal, Les Violons du Roy and the Orchester Symphonique de Trois-Rivières.
As part of the Ensemble Contemporain de Montréal+, she took part in the first Generation Canadian tour. From 2005 to 2006, Sarah taught bassoon at her former high school, École Joseph-François Perrault. She is a founding member of the O5 wind quintet.
