Madeleine Landry is a musician from Moncton, New Brunswick. Coming from a musical family, she began studying piano at a young age and simultaneously sang with the Jeunes Chanteurs d’Acadie. With this choir, she participated in several tours and musical exchanges, notably in Cuba, Vancouver, and Louisiana. These experiences introduced her to the richness of choral singing and sparked a true passion within her.
In 2024, Madeleine earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Moncton, with piano as her primary instrument, voice as her secondary instrument, and a specialization in choral conducting. In August of that same year, she moved to Montreal to pursue a master’s degree in choral conducting at the University of Sherbrooke under the guidance of Professor Robert Ingari, where she has just received her degree.
Madeleine has also been the choir director of the Petits Chanteurs de Granby since the fall of 2025, the director of the Chantignole choirs, and the choir director and rehearsal pianist for the Petites Voix du Plateau. She also sings with the Chœur de chambre du Québec and the Chœur expérimental du Canada.
This young conductor stands out in the Canadian choral community for her teaching approach, which is both rigorous and warm, as well as for her curiosity about the choral repertoire. Her vision of conducting is rooted in positive leadership—combining structure with kindness—and a commitment to musical excellence. She pays particular attention to vocal health, the quality of the ensemble sound, and artistic expression, with the goal of creating a stimulating environment where every singer can develop a healthy, confident, and expressive voice while enjoying the pleasure of singing together.
