Soprano Elyse Charlebois is renowned for the richness of her voice and the intensity of her interpretations.
In 2023, she was soloist in John Rutter's Magnificat with the Choeur Classique de l'Outaouais. The same year, she took part in the Soirée à l'Opéra concert with the University of Ottawa Choir. She was the soprano for the premiere of Éternité de l'Éphémère by Canadian composer François-Hugues Leclair, accompanied by pianist Frédéric Lacroix. In 2022, she was soloist in Beethoven's 9th Symphony with the Orchestre symphonique de Gatineau.
With a predilection for 19th- and 20th-century repertoire, she has also sung the roles of Sieglinde (DieWalküre, Wagner), Amelia (Un ballo in maschera, Verdi), Leonora (La forza del destino, Verdi) , Lady Macbeth(Macbeth, Verdi), La Mère (Hänsel et Gretel, Humperdinck), Leonora (Il Trovatore, Verdi), Elle (La VoixHumaine, Poulenc), Countess Almaviva (Le Nozze di Figaro, Mozart), Suor Angelica (Suor Angelica,Puccini), Santuzza (Cavalleria rusticana, Mascagni), Métella (La Vie Parisienne, Offenbach), Conception (L'Heureespagnole, Ravel) and many others.
Internationally, she performed the roles of Norma (Norma, Bellini) and Leonora (Il Trovatore, Verdi) for theVarna Opera House in Bulgaria in 2018. The previous year, Elyse Charlebois recorded two rare operas with Edizioni Bongiovanni in Milan, Italy. She sang the roles of Vanna (Vanna, Pavanelli) and Mara (Maremma, Di Cagno), and has been the recipient of numerous awards over the years. These include 3rd Prize at the InternationalVoice Competition Fiorenza Cossotto in Bologna, Italy.
Since 2022, Elyse Charlebois has been teaching at the Vocal Concentration of the Ontario Centre for Artistic Excellence.
