Marie-Claude Roy, a pianist from Belgium and Quebec, has been evolving in an operatic environment since she was very young. Spontaneous, audacious, solid and warm, she has put human encounters at the heart of her practice. With a wealth of collaborations to her credit, she shares her infectious passion with quality artists and has carved out a place for herself in a musical landscape as varied as it is demanding.
She is a vocal coach-accompanist in Belgium, at the Conservatoire Royal de Liège, the IMEP (Namur) and the Conservatoire d'Anvers. She has had the opportunity to work at the Université de Montréal, MCGILL University, the Opéra Flamand, the Opéra Royal de Liège, the Opéra de La Monnaie, the Chapelle Reine Elisabeth, and the Conservatoire Royal de Mons ARTS2, where she has been able to give free rein to her taste for transmission, an essential value in her eyes.
Soloist, chamber musician, accompanist and vocal coach, driven by her insatiable curiosity, she is equally at home in contemporary music (notably with the Ensemble Musiques Nouvelles) and opera.
Recently, Marie-Claude had the opportunity to be musical director and pianist for Michel Tremblay and Catherine Major's "Albertine en cinq temps" project, during performances at the Théâtre du Rideau Vert in Montreal and for the recording of the album, on the ATMA label.
